Section 15.08.010 Building code adoption.
Prior to the adoption of Ord. 2394 on 08/15/2005, Section 15.08.010 read as follows.
Except as otherwise stated in the
third paragraph of this Section 15.08.010, the "BOCA
Basic Building Code, 14th Edition" published by the Building Officials and Code Administrators
International, Inc., in 1999, as from time to time supplemented and amended, is hereby adopted
as the building code of the City, for the control and regulation of buildings, building
improvements, and structures as is in said BOCA Code made and provided; and each and all of
the regulations, provisions, penalties, terms and conditions of said BOCA Building Code, as from
time to time supplemented and amended, is hereby adopted and incorporated herein the same as
if same were set forth herein verbatim, as the building code of the City.
Except as otherwise stated in the
third paragraph of this Section 15.08.010, subsequent
editions of the BOCA Code that are published hereafter shall be deemed adopted and
incorporated in the City's Building Code, as provided above and as they are printed and
published, with appropriate ordinances of the City to be enacted as soon as practicable thereafter
to supply the additions, insertions and changes required, so that the City Building Code shall be
the most recent edition of the BOCA Code as is from time to time published.
Notwithstanding anything contained
in this Section 15.08.010 of this building code, the
minimum product weight for polyvinyl chloride siding (also known as vinyl) siding to be
installed on buildings in the City after the 1st day of August, 2005, shall be a minimum thickness
of .046 of an inch.
